Fellow golfers say Tiger Woods should accept the repercussions following his DUI incident in Florida after an accident.

“I sympathise with him, but I prefer not to sugarcoat things,” former PGA golfer Mark Lye remarked during Saturday’s segment of “Fox & Friends Weekend.”

“In my opinion, there needs to be some sort of penalty or removal, perhaps a suspension from the sport.”

The ex-golfer mentioned that the five-time Masters champion, whom he described as a "blessing to the game," must face some consequences.

“I’m curious when the discipline he demonstrates on the course will resonate in his personal life,” he continued. “He’s battling inner struggles.”

Lye also speculated during his appearance about when “you reach a breaking point” regarding missteps such as Woods’ latest charge.

He highlighted that many golf and sports contracts include “morality clauses,” expressing concern that if they “don’t take action against him,” his issues might intensify.

“Decades of outstanding golf can vanish in an instant,” Lye stated, feeling relieved Woods wasn’t harmed in Friday’s rollover incident.

PGA Tour commentator Doug Bell also expressed his views, according to Fox News, sharing Lye’s relief that the incident wasn’t worse.

“It’s concerning to observe the events of the previous day,” Bell mentioned, as reported by the outlet, stating that it’s “a recurring theme” with Woods.

“Perhaps this situation will lead to a positive change for one of the most remarkable athletes and personalities we’ve witnessed in many years,” he added.

Bell also shared empathy for the physical discomfort Woods endured after his injuries from a 2021 accident in Palos Verdes, Los Angeles.

“He’s confronting challenges we are unaware of regarding his mental and physical state post-surgeries,” he commented. Withdrawing from golf “might be beneficial” for Woods, Bell suggested.

A spokesperson for Woods didn’t immediately respond to Page Six’s inquiry for a statement on Saturday.

Woods, aged 50, was taken into custody on Friday and faced accusations of DUI with property damage, along with resisting a legal test, following an incident in his Land Rover on Jupiter Island, Florida just past 2pm.

According to Sheriff John Budensiek, Woods attempted to maneuver around a pressure cleaning vehicle and clipped its trailer, causing the vehicle to skid and overturn.

Despite showing “impairment signs” at the location, his breathalyzer returned negative, yet he declined a urine test.

The authorities stated he crawled out of the Land Rover after the accident and was then observed making a phone call nearby. Woods was then detained and was later released overnight.

This wasn’t Woods’ initial encounter with legal issues, nor his first car-related mishap.

Woods suffered from numerous serious injuries from the 2021 incident and underwent surgeries on his knees, legs, and back.

In the midst of a widely publicized November 2009 scandal denoted by accusations of infidelity, which resulted in divorce from Elin Nordegren — with whom he has two children — he crashed a Cadillac SUV into a neighbor's tree in Florida.

He lost consciousness, and Nordegren subsequently assisted him out of the vehicle — revealing he had ingested sleeping pills.

Back in May 2017, the renowned golfer was taken into custody in Jupiter, Fla, under the suspicion of driving under the influence.

The report indicated Woods had fallen asleep behind the wheel of his Mercedes-Benz and required waking up.

Subsequent tests revealed various substances in his system — including Dilaudid, Xanax, Vicodin, THC, and Ambien. He admitted to reckless driving, resulting in a $250 fine and a year’s probation.
