Kate Beckinsale blasts Mark Ruffalo for ‘ignoring’ her after controversial firing claim
The actress claims she was fired over a ceasefire-related social media stance
Kate Beckinsale has publicly called out Mark Ruffalo after claiming she was dropped by her agent over her stance on a social media post advocating a ceasefire in Gaza.
The actress expressed her frustration in the comments section of Ruffalo’s recent Instagram post, which promoted his new film.
She accused him of staying silent despite their shared professional connections.
Beckinsale claimed that they were both represented by the same agent at the time of her dismissal.
“It must be so nice not to be fired by your agent for liking a post about a ceasefire and not supporting the murdering of children,” she wrote, in a pointed message directed at Ruffalo.
Beckinsale further claimed that she reached out to Ruffalo following her firing but did not receive any response.
In her remarks, she also suggested that gender dynamics may have played a role in how the situation unfolded, adding that “having a penis in Hollywood really counts for a lot.”
The 52-year-old actress said her dismissal came shortly after the end of the Screen Actors Guild strike, which lasted from July to November 2023 and brought much of the entertainment industry to a halt.
She also noted that fellow actress Susan Sarandon was reportedly dropped around the same time.
Despite the strong claims, Beckinsale did not disclose the name of the agent involved. Ruffalo has not publicly responded to the comments as of now.
