Snoop Dogg is hoping to turn a long-discussed idea into reality, revealing he wants to collaborate with music and TV mogul Simon Cowell on a new television project.

The 54-year-old rapper said he has been in conversation about working with Cowell for more than a decade, though conflicting schedules have repeatedly stalled the plans.

“For real, I have been talking about working with my boy Simon for over 10 years,” Snoop said in an interview with the Sunday Mirror

“There are times when it could have happened, when it nearly happened, but one of our schedules always got in the way.”

Snoop, who has expanded his career into business and sports ownership, including a stake in Swansea City AFC, said he believes the timing may now finally be right.

“Maybe this is the time to make the Snoop and Simon TV partnership happen,” he said. “I got a few ideas that could be huge, but I got to speak to Simon first.”

The rapper praised Cowell, 66, as “one of the great talent scouts of all time,” suggesting the pair could create a format capable of bringing audiences together again.

“TV has moved on, the way people watch TV has moved on,” he said. “But shows like The X Factor used to bring a nation together—and we need more of that.”

Snoop also confirmed he plans to meet Cowell in the UK soon, joking that their business discussion could double as a casual catch-up.

“I should be back in the UK in a couple of weeks,” he said. “So I am going to take him out for a curry, and a business chat.”

Cowell’s long-running ITV hit The X Factor ended in 2021 after 17 years on air, while Snoop has increasingly diversified into entertainment ventures beyond music, including football ownership.

Addressing comparisons between his involvement in Swansea City and Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s ownership of Wrexham AFC, Snoop dismissed any rivalry.

“There is no rivalry with Ryan at all,” he said. “Ryan and Rob are doing their thing, and I am doing mine. The plans I’ve got for Swansea are bigger than people can imagine.”
