Jennifer Lopez is returning to her romantic comedy roots with a bold twist in the upcoming Netflix film Office Romance, co-starring Brett Goldstein.

Netflix released the official trailer on April 30, offering a first look at the steamy office-set love story, which is set to premiere on June 5.

In the film, Lopez plays Jackie Cruz, a powerful CEO who unexpectedly falls for her employee, Daniel Blanchflower, played by Goldstein. Their secret relationship unfolds as the pair decides to defy workplace boundaries and follow their feelings, risking both their reputations and careers.

Director Ol Parker said the chemistry between Lopez and Goldstein was evident from the very beginning. Recalling an early meeting, he noted that their natural rapport made it clear the project would work.

The film also features a strong supporting cast, including Betty Gilpin, Tony Hale, Amy Sedaris, Edward James Olmos, and Bradley Whitford.

Parker hinted that Office Romance pushes beyond the boundaries of Lopez’s previous rom-coms, blending classic romance with edgier, more risqué humor.

Lopez herself described the film as a “fun, raunchy and romantic” take on the genre, adding that the script felt fresh and relevant.

Despite a packed schedule, the multi-hyphenate star said she was determined to take on the role, believing the film offers exactly the kind of entertainment audiences need right now.

Goldstein, who co-wrote the screenplay, revealed that Lopez was always the first choice for the lead role.

He said crafting the story with her in mind made the writing process easier, calling her one of the best in the genre.

Lopez also shared insight into her character, describing Jackie as a highly driven and controlled executive, a stark contrast to her own approach to balancing work and personal life.

Office Romance will be available to stream globally on June 5.
