After Blondie’s Debbie Harry introduced Olivia Rodrigo's debut song on Saturday Night Live for the evening, Connor Storrie made a surprise appearance to present the artist’s second song — an unreleased track — during her double role on the show.

Rodrigo appeared to perform a fresh song from her upcoming album you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, set to release on June 12.

Unlike the energetic and biting tune “drop dead,” this new single had a more mellow and emotional feel.

“I could never leave / so I’m patiently learning / pretend it’s not hurting,” sang the artist. Other lyrics included: “‘Cause they say it’s a virtue / to not let good love slip away.”

The Heated Rivalry actor recently stood in Rodrigo’s place at Studio 8H earlier in the year, marking his first hosting gig back in late February.

His episode was filled with unexpected guests: the US women’s and men’s Olympic hockey champions, along with his co-star Hudson Williams.

Though Rodrigo was previously a musical guest twice, tonight was her first time as the leading act in the Lorne Michaels-created sketch series.

But Storrie wasn’t the only unexpected guest this evening. As mentioned, Harry unveiled the three-time Grammy winner's initial song.

Additionally, Aziz Ansari participated in the Cold Open as FBI director Kash Patel.

Leading up to her third studio album, Rodrigo debuted the single “drop dead” along with a stunning music video — artistically directed by Petra Collins at the Louvre — two weeks ago.
