Johnny Depp plays Ebenezer Scrooge in dark fantasy film

Paramount Pictures unveiled actor Johnny Depp as Ebenezer Scrooge in a first-look promotional poster for the upcoming feature film Ebenezer.

The newly released promotional artwork showcases the 63-year-old actor transformed into the famous Charles Dickens character, dressed in a traditional top hat as falling snow surrounds him. Paramount Pictures included the official taglines, "Before he was Scrooge, he was Ebenezer," alongside "The name you know. The story you don't." The project presents a dark fantasy version of Charles Dickens' classic novel A Christmas Carol. The narrative follows Scrooge, a businessman who receives visits from three ghosts on Christmas Eve and faces forced confrontation with his past, present, and future.

Filmmaker Ti West, widely known for directing horror films such as The House of the Devil, directed the upcoming cinematic adaptation. Photographers previously spotted Depp filming scenes on location in London while wearing his full Scrooge costume earlier this year. The actor also shared photographs from the set across his official Instagram account, accompanied by the iconic phrase, "Bah, humbug!"

The feature film features a high-profile supporting cast alongside Depp, including Rupert Grint, Sir Ian McKellen, and Daisy Ridley. Paramount Pictures scheduled Ebenezer for a theatrical launch in November.
