Concertgoer Gabrielle Cheyenne addressed her viral stage removal during an Usher performance at a Nashville concert on Saturday. The fan went viral after her awkward reaction to the artist's dance moves prompted him to stop the performance and ask her to leave the stage. Usher currently co-headlines The R&B Tour alongside singer Chris Brown.
TMZ reported that Cheyenne attended the event primarily to see Brown rather than Usher. Cheyenne stated on Monday that her demeanor would have differed completely had Brown been the one dancing on her, noting her stiffness was portrayed unfavourably online. She explained that venue team members approached her and her mother before the show, upgrading their floor seats to the VIP section without providing instructions about appearing on stage. Cheyenne added that she would have declined the opportunity had she known it involved the 47-year-old singer instead of the 37-year-old Brown.
The concertgoer stressed she holds no animosity towards Usher, explaining she listened to his music as a child but prefers Brown. Both artists are well known for bringing fans on stage during their live performances. Brown previously made headlines in September 2025 after giving television personality Kayla Nicole a lap dance during his tour stop in Los Angeles.
Cheyenne defended her actions on social media on Sunday following criticism from fans who questioned her decision to go on stage. In a Facebook post, she stated that no individual would decline an opportunity to appear on the venue's large screen in front of thousands of audience members. She further clarified that her appearance was the result of being moved by event staff prior to the start of the show. Cheyenne also posted a photograph alongside Usher's wife, Jennifer Goicoechea, backstage following the incident, demonstrating there was no ill feeling between the parties.
