Stanley Tucci discusses unexpected relationship with Emily Blunt’s sister

Stanley Tucci has opened up about his relationship with Felicity Blunt, describing how their unexpected romance “made sense” following the devastating loss of his first wife.

The Devil Wears Prada star, 65, discussed his personal life during an appearance on Jenna Bush Hager’s Open Book podcast, where he reflected on how love found him again after years of grief and uncertainty.

Tucci was previously married to Kate Tucci, who tragically passed away in 2009 after battling breast cancer, a loss he has often described as life-altering for both him and his children.

He shared that after her passing, he never expected to remarry or expand his family again, but meeting Felicity Blunt changed that perspective.

“I wasn’t sure that I would ever remarry. I never thought I would have children again,” he said, adding that their connection developed naturally despite a 21-year age gap.

Blunt, who is the sister of actress Emily Blunt, first met Tucci through her sibling’s wedding to actor John Krasinski, where their friendship began before evolving into a relationship.

Tucci said that despite their differences, he and Felicity shared an unexpected compatibility that quickly deepened into a lasting bond.

“We had a lot in common, even though we had nothing in common,” he said, reflecting on the early days of their relationship.

The actor added that Blunt brought stability and warmth into his life, describing her as someone who provided emotional grounding for both him and his children.

“She gave my children a sense of security. And she’s fun. Like, she’s fun to hang out with,” he said.

Tucci also praised her intelligence and outlook on life, calling her “incredibly positive” and noting her ability to understand and interpret the world in a unique way.

The couple married in 2012 and later welcomed two children together.
