Arnold Schwarzenegger, Heather Milligan turn heads with recent appearance

Arnold Schwarzenegger made a rare public appearance with longtime girlfriend Heather Milligan as the couple attended the 2026 Austrian World Summit in Vienna, Austria.

People reported that the former California governor, actor and climate activist was joined by Milligan on June 16 as they supported the annual environmental conference organised through Schwarzenegger’s climate initiative. The event has become a major platform for discussions on climate solutions since its launch in 2017.

Photographs from the summit showed Schwarzenegger and Milligan alongside prominent political figures, including Kamala Harris.

Schwarzenegger Highlights Climate Action at Summit

During an appearance on Morning Joe, Schwarzenegger spoke about the goals of the conference and the importance of reducing pollution.

“We have to terminate pollution,” he said, referencing his iconic role in the The Terminator franchise.

The actor added that the summit's theme focused on optimism and progress, pointing to environmental initiatives and clean-energy efforts underway across several U.S. states.

The Austrian World Summit also welcomed Alexander Van der Bellen and Christian Stocker, among other political, scientific and business leaders.

Arnold Schwarzenegger, Heather Milligan Have Been Together Since 2012

Although Schwarzenegger regularly appears at public events, outings with Milligan are relatively uncommon.

The couple first met in 2012 after Schwarzenegger underwent shoulder surgery while preparing to film Escape Plan with Sylvester Stallone.

Milligan, a physical therapist, was recommended to assist with his recovery. What began as a professional relationship eventually developed into a romance.

Schwarzenegger previously recalled reaching out to Milligan after completing both his rehabilitation and filming commitments.

“I called her back and took her out for lunch to say thank you,” he said in an earlier interview. “And then one thing led to the next.”

Couple Keep Their Relationship Largely Private

Over the past 14 years, Schwarzenegger and Milligan have largely kept their relationship out of the spotlight, making occasional appearances at film premieres, charity functions and family events.

Despite their low-profile approach, Schwarzenegger has publicly praised Milligan on several occasions.

“We have so many things in common,” he said in a 2023 interview. “I think the world of her. I love that she’s into working. She’s clearly independent. She just is driven as hell.”

The Vienna appearance offered a rare glimpse of the couple together as they continued supporting Schwarzenegger’s environmental advocacy efforts on the global stage.
