Former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger marked his 79th birthday on Thursday by publishing workout photographs from Los Angeles on social media to promote his fitness application. The actor displayed his physical condition in two snapshots taken while lifting weights in a gym setting.

In a post published on his official Instagram account, Schwarzenegger appeared wearing a black T-shirt, matching shorts, sunglasses, and a gold watch while showing off his arms. The social media upload served as a promotion for Pump Club, a fitness community application that provides customised nutrition tracking, workout routines, and fitness guidance.

In the post caption, Schwarzenegger stated that he did not want traditional birthday gifts from supporters. Instead, he explained that he and his team were focused on turning the fitness industry upside down through their new digital venture. Followers responded in the comments section with positive messages praising his physical shape as he approached 80.

The seven-time Mr Olympia winner has established a career spanning decades in professional bodybuilding and film. His involvement in bodybuilding has extended to his family, with his 28-year-old son, Joseph Baena, following in his father's footsteps by pursuing his own career in bodybuilding.

The birthday post follows a public appearance last month at the Austrian World Summit held in Vienna, Austria. Schwarzenegger attended the event alongside his girlfriend Heather Milligan, 51, whom he began dating 14 years ago.
