Filmmakers John Requa and Glenn Ficarra reflected on the making of their hit romantic comedy Crazy, Stupid, Love to mark 15 years since its production. The directing duo shared behind-the-scenes memories from the 2011 feature film, detailing their initial anxieties while shooting a pivotal scene with actor Kevin Bacon.

People reported that the directors recounted their experience while filming an extensive backyard sequence that required five days to shoot. Requa confessed to Bacon during downtime on set that the team worried they were having too much fun while making the movie. Requa explained that filmmakers often hear an old belief that enjoying a shoot leads to a poor final product, whereas a difficult production results in a great film.

Bacon immediately dismissed the myth and reassured the directors, encouraging them to ignore the old saying.
