Tom Holland revealed that Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures already have a long-term strategy in place to transition the Spider-Man mantle to a new actor once his tenure ends. Speaking on the Happy Sad Confused podcast on Thursday, July 30, the 30-year-old actor shared that discussions regarding the future of the character have been active for years. "There’s a whole plan that we have been working on for, I would say, since we finished Spider-Man: No Way Home," Holland said. "It’s laid out. It’s gonna change for sure, but I have a really clear vision to the passing on of the baton, and I think it’s really exciting."

"I know I get really excited when we have these meetings and chat about it," Holland explained. "But that is the thing I want to do most in this character, for sure." Drawing parallels to his own early days working alongside Marvel co-star Robert Downey Jr., Holland expressed a desire to guide whoever steps into the role next, stating, "In the way that Robert Downey was such a mentor for me in my first three movies, I would love to be that person for whoever is next."
