Tamannaah Bhatia led web series ‘Aakhri Sach’ based on true story? Details inside

Tamannaah Bhatia has become the latest talk of the town after her new crime thriller web series Aakhri Sach landed on OTT platform on Disney + Hotstar on August 25, 2023.

Tamannaah, who has wowed fans with her new cop avatar in the investigative thriller, recently revealed why she said to the project, which is based on the Burari deaths, a real case suicide mystery that caused shockwaves across India.

The Baahubali famed actress shared, “when ‘Aakhri Sach’ came to me, it was a story that immediately shook my very core. This character is very special to me - firstly because it’s the first time ever I am playing a police officer in a long format and secondly, the emotional vulnerability of Anya that Aakhri Sach displays is like none other.”

“Playing this sharp and fierce cop, really pushed me to embrace all the discomfort and perceptions that came with it and overcome them. I am glad to be a part of this story and take this to the world with Disney+ Hotstar!,” the Jailer actress added.

Aakhri Sach web series is inspired from the spine chilling case of Burari family, more commonly called as the 'Burari Killings' or 'Burari Deaths' of 2018.

The plot revolves around the sensitive case of the homicide that involved numerous myths, tales and beliefs, followed by nerve ending revelations.

The Tamannaah Bhatia led series is written and directed by Saurav Dey and Robbie Grewal respectively. The cast includes Abhishek Banerjee, Danish Iqbal, Nishu Dikshit, Kriti Vij, Shivin Narang and Sanjeev Chopra.

Aakhri Sach is currently streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
