Marvel Cinematic Universe will be further expanded with the crossover between Matt Murdock AKA Daredevil and Jessica Jones, out next year.

However, Daredevil: Born Again Season Two will omit Frank Castle AKA The Punisher from its plot moving forward.

Played by Jon Bernthal and introduced in the original Daredevil series on Netflix, The Punisher went on to receive its own stand-alone show, released in 2017.

Bernthal reprised the role in Daredevil’s reboot released in March this year, with fans hoping that his storyline will continue into the show’s second season.

Sana Amanat, producer for Daredevil: Born Again, confirmed the anti-hero’s omission in an interview with Empire Magazine.

Jon Bernthal will now appear as The Punisher in the upcoming release, Spider-Man: Brand New Day and a TV special for Disney+, The Punisher Special Presentation.

While Charlie Cox will reprise his role as Matt Murdock/Daredevil in season two of Daredevil: Born Again, with Krysten Ritter joining him as Jessica Jones, and releasing on Disney+ March 4, 2026.
