Michael Che makes a pathetic comment on Scarlett Johansson at 'SNL' weekend update
The host aims at Scarlett Johansson through his husband Colin Jost
Michael Che and Colin Jost revived their annual Saturday Night Live Christmas tradition this week, with Che once again putting his co-anchor squarely in the line of fire during the show’s Weekend Update joke swap.
This time, Che raised the stakes.
According to Variety, Che told Jost ahead of the broadcast that they were skipping the yearly exchange, only to secretly prepare jokes of his own leaving Jost as the sole reader, unaware of what awaited him.
The result was a one-sided swap that delighted the audience and left Jost visibly uncomfortable as Che laughed from his chair.
Among the jokes Jost was forced to read were barbs touching on race, the Catholic Church, and sexual abuse scandals, each met with gasps and laughter.
The segment escalated when Che targeted Jost’s wife, actor Scarlett Johansson, who was backstage watching.
“New research shows that millions of women leave the work force due to menopause. Which means there’s only a couple years left on my gravy train,” a photo of Johansson flashed on the screen as Jost pretended to look normal.
“My girl already be like, ‘Colin, I’m warm. Colin, I’m sweating.’ B***, you having a hot flash.” Che said
Che offered no reprieve, later prompting another punchline involving Wednesday star Jenna Ortega.
The segment followed last year’s widely discussed swap, in which Che similarly pushed Jost into reading jokes about his wife.
