Sydney Sweeney defends her 'Euphoria' character 'Cassie' in latest move

Sydney Sweeney can’t seem to fathom how people can be so "judgmental about someone’s body."

During her candid conversation with The Times of London, published on May 31, the 27-year-old actress reflected on her iconic character from Euphoria, saying, "It’s fascinating to see how I play a character that gets judged and thrown around and talked about because of her body."

She went on to address how fans and viewers of the show, rather than taking it as a life lesson, have adopted that behaviour into their lives instead.

Continuing, "A woman’s body is beyond empowering and beautiful and sexy and all the things. And I think that one day I will be able to have control of the narrative of my body. I’ll take the power."

The Immaculate star went on to highlight that Cassie holds far more depth to her than what appears on the surface.

Sydney noted that might seem one-dimensional and a stereotypical "blonde" at first, but she is much more complex and has layers that go unnoticed.

The Anyone But You actress expressed her excitement for the upcoming and most anticipated third season, saying, "Being back is crazy, I love Cassie so much. She’s insane."
