There seemed to be no limits or decency when it came to Markle. One paper felt she should be pictured with the word “Angel” plastered around her head. Conversely there existed creepy tales of the 44-year-old claiming she was the new Hitler.

Love and hate affair with Press

First, It is strikingly evident Markle does seem to fit modern norms of what people expect, attractive, fashionable, glamorous, but most importantly there is and always will be the the image of the post princess who chased Harry and it shan’t ever be forgotten. It is with that image that the conflict between Markle and the tabloids stems from.

To which Markle was an single handed taboo, it felt outrages, not only was she of the entitled society, but she was divorced. tabloids perceived willful disregard along with arrogance is what reignited the tabloids and people. Markle was the dissection of choice for all those pretending to outraged. There is no doubt her marriage of Prince was but a booster to the tabloids along with the dissection Markle faced after.

Why the media is dis-intended from Meghan?

Meghan’s refusal to “stick to the instructions” due to unprecedented backlash speaks volumes. Unlike the conventional royals who kept silent, Meghan voiced her challenges — from the state of her mental health to the politics of the palace.

It is Meghan’s willingness to slash secrecy that motivates the evaluation of Meghan’s delicate position in the media.

Hypocrisy brought to the forefront

Documents indicated vile and shameless disparities: the hitting actions of Meghan were hardly if ever praised relative to her counterparts. Cradling her baby bump? “Attention-seeking” or “graceful” gallant middle mother to be? Yes.

Such critiques further supported, as adversaries claimed, skewed discrimination of the media.

Litigation and headlines

Meghan, on the other, did not stay bum. Tabloid on the other vexed her on fake stories and breach of confidentiality. As per medial documents, she won the Mail on Sunday, but her victory did not usher an end to criticism, in fact, it led to even stronger negative criticism portraying her as “difficult and demanding.”

Media's favourite target or modern day villain?

In this case, is Meghan Markle subjected to media portrayal? As per certain experts, Markle reflects the assimilation of certain cultures; she is an outspoken and American duchess of the biracial descent.

A thesis advanced by media critics suggests Markle goes against the perceived image of a submissive and dutiful royal spouse, and this is why she is regarded as the perfect victim.

The bigger question

Is Meghan really as much as the villain the media describes her as, or is she a woman refusing to be silenced?

One thing is for certain: her fight with the media has become a defining tale for modern royals, and every story reiterates how much Meghan Markle is the most controversial character in the royal family.
