Battle royale cooking: Royal family members who know their way around the kitchen
Find out who among your favourite royals are also known to cook

While Meghan, Duchess of Sussex has built a whole empire based on her love for food — a lifestyle brand, a Netflix show, and even a cookbook — she is far from the only royal to have dabbled in the business of cooking.
Despite the air of superiority around them, a good chunk of the royal family are known to let loose in the kitchen and prepare different meals — even some of the senior most members of the team.

Prince Philip

While Queen Elizabeth was not fond of cooking by any measure, the Duke of Edinburgh did not share his wife’s disdain for the discipline and was quite handy in the kitchen, it turns out.
“Prince Philip was an amazing chef. He loved to cook on the grill, he loved to cook at Balmoral. He’d teach me things and he was so knowledgeable. The Queen no, not so much,” revealed former royal chef Darren McGrady.
Kate Middleton

The Princess of Wales has indulged listeners about her passion for cooking on many occasions, with her husband even once declaring, “Catherine’s very good”.
Indeed, Princess Kate is known to spoil her husband by preparing his favourite meals — she revealed just this week that she learnt about Prince William’s dislike for nuts in brownies the “hard way” — while she routinely engages in the activity with her three children as well.
The Wales siblings

As it stands, Kate Middleton has passed on her cooking skills to her three young children — Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis — all of whom are already learning the art and preparing food themselves.
“They made cheesy pasta the other day. One stirs the flour, one puts the milk and butter in. And they make salads and stuff,” Matthew Kleiner-Mann, an educational executive, revealed the future queen’s words about her children.
Prince William

When his whole family is adept at cooking, naturally the Prince of Wales wouldn’t want to embarrass them.
Though William has admitted that he’s not the best at it, he is known to put his kitchen skills to good use occasionally, specially when he was trying to woo his future wife when they were dating — “He used to cook all sorts of meals. I think that’s when he was trying to impress me, Mary,” Kate told TV chef Mary Berry in 2019.
Prince Harry

Finally, Prince Harry also keeps up with all the cooking that goes on in his house, Meghan Markle once revealed.
When her friend Kelly McKee Zajfen said during an episode of With Love, Meghan’s season one that Harry “is a great cook,” the Duchess replied, “He is. He made great scrambled eggs the other morning.”
