Cher lands £13mn Netflix deal for first tell-all docuseries
The documentary is said to align with the second part of Cher’s memoir
Cher is reportedly ready to tell her life story on camera for the very first time, thanks to Netflix.
According to The Sun, the music icon has struck a £13 million deal with the streaming giant for a new documentary series titled Sharing Her Story. The project is expected to span seven episodes and arrive in 2026.
A source told the outlet that the deal came together after months of discussions.
“Cher has been in talks with Netflix for months and, finally, the deal is as good as done,” the insider said, adding that the series will explore both the highs and lows of her extraordinary life.
The documentary is said to align with the second part of Cher’s memoir, which follows Cher: The Memoir, Part One, released in 2024.
In the first installment, the 79-year-old opened up about her childhood, her rise alongside Sonny & Cher, and her complicated marriage to Sonny Bono.
She previously told Entertainment Weekly that writing the memoir took an emotional toll.
“We did this for months, going back and forth. But sometimes I would just say, ‘You guys, I just can’t do this anymore. I will be so glad when this is over,’” she said reflecting.
“Sometimes when we were in the bad part, the bad part weighed so heavily,” she went on to say.
