Simu Liu didn’t hold back when he spoke up about Hollywood’s bias and its persistent blind spot when it comes to Asian representation.

Taking to Threads, the 36-year-old Canadian actor didn’t hesitate to share his honest thoughts about how underrepresented his community still is in the industry.

"Put some asians in literally anything right now. the amount of backslide in our representation onscreen is f**king appalling," The Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings star penned.

“Studios think we’re risky,” he further claimed.

His strong comments came after he read a post urging Hollywood to cast more Asian men as romantic leads.

Simu referenced the successes of movies like Minari, Farewell, Everything Everywhere All at Once, Crazy Rich Asians and even his own Marvel hit as proof that Asian-led films can thrive at the box-office.

“Every single one is a financial success,” the Kim’s Convenience actor remarked, adding, “No Asian actor has ever lost a studio even close to 100 million dollars but a white dude will lose 200 million TWICE and roll right into the next tentpole lead. We're fighting a deeply prejudiced system. and most days it SUCKS.”
