Will Smith's family rides high on drama after his brother-in-law's legal move
Will Smith's brother-in-law causes tension in actor's family
Will Smith's family is apparently riding high on drama after his brother-in-law became a blabbermouth which has upset both the actor and his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.
For the unversed, Pinkett’s brother, Bilaal Salaam is suing his sister for $3 million in damages for intentional infliction of emotional distress via her husband’s longtime friend.
He claimed that her sister, in 2021, threatened him with physical violence and warned that he would “catch a stray bullet” or “go missing” if he didn’t stop talking about her personal business.
Now, according to PEOPLE, the Smiths are upset over the lawsuit filed with one source saying, “They are really mad and say it’s a lot of crap.”
The couple sees Pinkett’s brother as an “opportunistic person out to exploit them” and as "a money ploy to get what they can out of them.”
According to an insider, “both of them dislike people around them talking out of school”.
In the end, the source noted, “Bilaal has been close to Will for many years but sometime along the way became a blabbermouth which has upset both Will and Jada.”
Another source told the publication, “Like any other high profile people, they don’t want to hear about their lives in the public arena. Especially in a controversial way.”
For the unversed, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith got married 1997.
However, in 2023, Pinkett announced that the two had been separated for seven years.
The couple are parents of a 27-year-old son Jaden, and a 25-year-old daughter Willow.
