Robert Downey Jr. jokes about Gwyneth Paltrow forgetting Tom Holland yet again
Robert Downey Jr. jokes about Gwyneth Paltrow’s ongoing confusion over Tom Holland
Robert Downey Jr. put Gwyneth Paltrow’s forgetfulness about Tom Holland back in the spotlight, teasing the actress who’s known among Marvel fans for forgetting important franchise details.
On Wednesday, December 3, the 60-year-old actor attended The Hollywood Reporter's Women in Entertainment gala in Los Angeles, where he teased the 53-year-old actress while presenting her the Sherry Lansing Leadership Award.
Downey joked that Paltrow has some "serious" general knowledge issues and that she apparently keeps forgetting who Holland is and what role he plays in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
He recalled a moment when the Se7en actress asked him, “Who’s that?," prompting him to respond, “That’s Spider-Man. His name is Peter. His character’s name is Peter. He’s Tom Holland. You’ve done four movies with him.”
However, this isn't the first time Paltrow has overlooked a significant part of her career.
In 2019, she took the internet by storm when she almost forgot that she was in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
“One time I didn’t realize I was in Spider-Man. I was like doing a scene with Robert and Jon Favreau, so I thought it was a cameo,” the Goop founder told Vanity Fair in 2019.
“They’re like, ‘It’s another…’ Anyway. And it turned out I was in Spider-Man and I didn’t even realize," Gwyneth Paltrow concluded.
