Sydney Sweeney blasts social media critics fuelling cosmetic work speculation
Sydney Sweeney clears up cosmetic work rumours ahead of ‘The Housemaid’ release
Sydney Sweeney is clearing the air once and for all regarding the ongoing plastic surgery speculations.
In an interview with Allure opposite her The Housemaid co-star Amanda Seyfried, the 28-year-old actress was asked to select a “beauty rumour” she would like to debunk.
Sweeney chose to shut down the speculation that she has “gotten work done.”
“Let’s debunk them all. I mean, I have never gotten work done,” she said in the video, adding, “I am so scared of needles, you have no idea.”
The Euphoria star then proceeded to deliver a message to netizens on the internet who make side-by-side comparisons using photos of her younger self and more recent ones.
“You cannot compare a photo of me from when I was 12 to a photo of me at 26 with professional makeup and lighting! Of course I'm going to look different,” Sweeney said.
“Everybody on social media’s insane,” she added.
Elsewhere in the interview, the Anyone But You actress also noted that even if she had gotten cosmetic procedures done, her face would be “even.”
Sweeney explained that a childhood accident led her to undergo a non-cosmetic surgery on her face, resulting in one of her eyes “opening a little more than the other.”
The Housemaid, starring Sydney Sweeney, is slated to be released on December 19, 2025.
