Sydney Sweeny has broken her silence and voiced support for Christy, just a day after the sports film was snubbed from the 2026 Golden Globe nominations.

On Tuesday, December 9, the 28-year-old actress took to her Instagram account to share the latest cover of Sports Illustrated, featuring herself alongside renowned boxer Christy Martin, whose life inspired the latest biographical drama.

Sweeney posted a carousel of captivating images accompanied by a heartfelt message that quickly drew attention.

"This is the most important film I've ever made,” she wrote in the caption.

The Euphoria star continued, “For 20 years, Christy Martin was one of the strongest women in the world inside the ring. But at home, she was abused and nearly killed by the man who claimed to love her. "

Highlighting the film’s importance, she added, "In the United States, about 20 people are physically abused by an intimate partner every single minute. And that's why this story matters."

Sweeney affirmed that she will always stand with survivors, noting that if the film has helped even a single person "then we've done something that matters."

Toward the end of her message, she expressed gratitude to everyone who took the time to watch her latest project.

"Thank you for watching. Thank you for sharing. I hope Christy stays with you long after the credits roll. It has for me. Syd," the Anyone But You actress concluded the post.

Her social media post comes just a day after Christy, which premiered on November 7, failed to earn a single nomination for the 2026 Golden Globes.

As for Sydney Sweeney’s upcoming projects, The Housemaid is slated for release on December 19.
