Christina Aguilera opens up about motherhood, kids keep her ‘humble’
The ‘Beautiful’ singer reflects on her life as a mom and the lessons she learns from her children
Christina Aguilera shared candid moments about her two kids, Max, 17, and Summer, 10, and how they keep her grounded, all while revealing the fun ways she earns “cool mom points.”
In The Jennifer Hudson Show on Tuesday, December 9, the singer reflected on motherhood and the lessons she learns from her children.
“For sure, they keep you humbled, but you do learn through their eyes also, and [motherhood] teaches you patience,” Aguilera said.
“It’s tough with kids in general. They will call you out for anything and everything, and I’m like, ‘I’ve lived through some things, too!’”
As for Summer, Aguilera shared that her 10-year-old daughter follows in her creative footsteps.
“She’s such an artist she paints, draws, makes beautiful masks, and she’s just so creative. She’s definitely her own thing,” Aguilera said.
“I never want to push anything on my kids. Whatever they’re passionate about, I support it. She’s also taken an interest in acting and has had a few lessons.”
Summer, however, prefers her mom in “mom mode” rather than stage mode. Aguilera laughed as she recalled her daughter’s insistence:
“So I’m done shooting, and Summer's like, ‘Can you take that off now? I just want to be cozy.’
She just loves my freckles; she loves to see them and asks if she’s going to have freckles one day. She’s the number one mama fan!”
