A former contestant from 'The Voice' has found herself at the centre of a criminal investigation after police arrested her on a warrant linked to a deadly crash in Tennessee.

Kata Hay, whose legal name is Kata Huddleston, was taken into custody early Wednesday morning in Oklahoma by the Osage County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities say the arrest follows a warrant issued by police in Tennessee as part of a vehicular homicide investigation.

Hay is now being held at the Osage County Jail while she awaits extradition back to Tennessee. Jail records reviewed by the Daily Mail show she is being held on a fugitive-from-justice charge, along with a police hold from Goodlettsville.

According to Tennessee police, the case stems from a fatal crash, though officers have not released further details about the incident. Public court records in Davidson County show Hay also has an open misdemeanour DUI case, her second after a previous conviction in 2016.

Documents also list additional misdemeanour charges filed on December 10, including leaving the scene of a crash involving more than $1,500 in property damage and possession of an open container.

Jail records further note a prior conviction from 2022 involving a minor, in which Hay admitted guilt, according to the Daily Mail.

The case remains with Tennessee police as extradition proceedings move forward.
