Investigators say the man allegedly grabbed a kitchen knife during the confrontation
A late-night domestic row in San Antonio took a disturbing turn when a 12-year-old boy was injured after stepping in to protect a family member.
According to the San Antonio Police Department, officers were called to reports of a cutting in the 600 block on Friday. When they arrived, they found that an argument between a 20-year-old man and his partner had escalated dangerously.
Investigators say the man allegedly grabbed a kitchen knife during the confrontation. As tensions flared, the 12-year-old boy tried to intervene and stop the dispute. In the process, he was cut on the hand.
Police said the child’s injury was not life-threatening, but the incident is being treated as an assault involving a deadly weapon.
No names have been released, and officers have not confirmed whether any arrests have been made.
The investigation remains ongoing as detectives work to establish exactly how the situation unfolded, police said.
