Bruno Mars breaks solo drought with new album announcement

Bruno Mars has announced his first solo venture in nearly a decade — an upcoming album titled The Romantic.

While the Uptown Funk singer has participated in several hits over the years, his last solo feature was 24K Magic, released in 2016.

The 40-year-old singer-songwriter announced on his Instagram that he will launch new music “this Friday,” whereas his album will drop on February 27.

Mars’ latest announcement comes two days after he had confirmed that he had completed work on a new album.

His viral single with the K-pop star Rosé, APT. is currently up for multiple awards at the 2026 Grammys, including among the categories Song of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.

Other collaborative hits by Bruno Mars in recent years include his 2024 hit duet with Lady Gaga, Die With a Smile, and Fat Juicy & Wet with rapper Sexyy Red.

Bruno Mars will release new music on January 9, ahead of the launch for The Romantic.
