Britney Spears has made her first public appearance since her arrest for driving under the influence earlier this month.

The 44-year-old singer was seen at a Starbucks in Malibu on Sunday, appearing composed in a long brown coat and sunglasses.

This sighting comes as legal proceedings regarding her 4 March arrest gather momentum in Ventura County.

A spokesperson for the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office confirmed: “The DUI case against Britney Spears has been submitted to the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office and is under review by our prosecutors.”

The official added, “Part of that review might include seeking additional information and evidence. A filing decision will be made before the scheduled May 4, 2026, court date.”

The incident has prompted a sombre response from the star’s inner circle. Her manager, Cade Hudson, described the situation as “inexcusable” but expressed hope for a positive turning point.

“This was an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable. Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law, and hopefully this can be the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney’s life,” he stated.

Spears is reportedly “devastated” by the arrest, which followed previous concerns regarding her driving in late 2025. Support is being led by her sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James.

Hudson noted, “Her boys are going to be spending time with her. Her loved ones are going to come up with an overdue needed plan to set her up for success for well being.”
