Angelina Jolie has scored what her legal team is calling an “important victory” in her ongoing winery dispute with ex-husband Brad Pitt, after a Los Angeles court ruled she does not have to hand over a set of private emails in the high-profile case.

The latest development comes amid the former couple’s long-running legal battle over their shared French winery, Château Miraval, which they continued to dispute even after finalizing their divorce in December 2024.

According to court documents cited by the Daily Mail, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Cindy Pánuco ruled this week that Jolie is not required to produce 22 contested emails that had previously been ordered for disclosure.

The decision marks a reversal of an earlier ruling that had directed her to turn over the communications.

In a statement to the outlet, Jolie’s attorney Paul Murphy described the outcome as a significant win for his client, arguing that Pitt’s legal team had overreached in its demands for access to privileged material.

“This is an important victory,” Murphy said. “The decision shows that Mr. Pitt was completely out of bounds when he sought access to obviously privileged documents.”

He added that Pitt’s team initially sought 126 emails before narrowing the request, ultimately receiving none. “He is getting nothing, zero,” Murphy said.

Murphy also accused Pitt’s side of attempting to gain inappropriate control over Jolie’s communications with her legal advisers and business associates, calling it a “pattern” in the litigation.

A source close to Pitt, however, told TMZ that the ruling was only a “temporary decision” and suggested that it may limit the disclosure of Jolie’s internal intentions rather than settle the matter fully.

In a separate ruling, the judge also denied Jolie’s request to sanction Pitt’s legal team $34,000, stating that penalties were not warranted.

The dispute stems from Pitt’s 2022 lawsuit, in which he alleged that Jolie violated an alleged agreement not to sell her stake in Château Miraval without his approval.

Jolie later sold her share to Tenute del Mondo, the wine division of the Stoli Group, prompting the legal challenge.

Court filings show Pitt’s team has argued that key communications—including emails involving Jolie’s business manager, publicists, and consultants—are central to understanding the terms of the sale.

Jolie’s side has maintained that many of the requested documents are protected by privilege.

Despite their divorce being finalized, the former Hollywood couple who share six children and were married in 2014, remain locked in litigation over the winery, with no clear resolution yet in sight.
