Drew Scott shares emotional anniversary post marking 16 years since meeting Linda

HGTV star Drew Scott has revealed that a last-minute decision nearly changed the course of his life, admitting he almost did not attend the Toronto Fashion Week event where he met his wife, Linda Phan, 16 years ago.

The Property Brothers: Under Pressure star, 48, reflected on the moment in a heartfelt Instagram post shared on Monday, May 4, as the couple celebrated their eighth wedding anniversary.

“When you're 32, you'll be invited to a Toronto Fashion Week event… it’s very important that you go,” Scott wrote over a montage of personal photos and family clips.

In his caption, he added, “And to think I almost stayed home that night… Happy anniversary, Lindy!”

Scott and Phan first met at Toronto Fashion Week in 2010, an encounter that would later lead to a relationship spanning more than a decade. 

The couple got engaged in 2016 during a proposal at Toronto’s Piano Piano restaurant and married in an outdoor ceremony in Italy on May 4, 2018.

Their anniversary post also featured moments from their wedding day, including their first dance, as well as recent family clips with their two children, Parker and Piper.

Since marrying, the couple has expanded their family, welcoming their son Parker in May 2022 and their daughter Piper in May 2024.

Scott has previously spoken about their early family life, including lighthearted stories about their daughter’s first words and her confusion between him and his twin brother, Jonathan Scott.

During a 2025 interview, he joked that Piper’s early vocabulary included “mama” and even “hippo” before she began saying “dada,” adding humorously that he was relieved when she eventually did.
