Amazon’s Prime Video is committed to ensuring a smooth production for the cast and crew of The Summer I Turned Pretty as they begin filming on location.

The streaming service released a message via social media, appealing for privacy and to “preserve the magic.”

“We appreciate the enthusiasm, but sharing locations and visiting the set interrupts production and poses genuine safety risks for our team,” the message read on Instagram.

The message also stated, “We are dedicated to creating a secure environment to produce the best film possible. Help us keep the magic of Cousins intact until we’re ready to unveil it.”

Starring Lola Tung, Christopher Barney, and Gavin Casalegno, The Summer I Turned Pretty recently started filming in Wilmington, North Carolina, and will conclude the series.

The movie is directed by Jenny Han, who co-wrote the script with Sarah Kuckserka.

“There’s another significant milestone in Belly’s story, and I felt it required a movie to truly capture it,” Han mentioned at the time of the announcement. “I am grateful to Prime Video for continuing to support my vision and for enabling this final chapter to be shared with the audience.”

Season Three was led by showrunners Jenny Han and Sarah Kucserka, with both also acting as executive producers alongside Karen Rosenfelt, Paul Lee, Hope Hartman, and Mads Hansen of wiip. The series is co-produced collaboratively by Amazon, MGM Studios, and wiip.
