Prime Video unveils high-stakes legal drama 'System' this month

Prime Video is set to release its upcoming Indian film worldwide on May 22. System, directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, will be available in 240 Prime Video regions.

The gripping legal drama features Sonakshi Sinha, Jyotika, and Ashutosh Gowariker, and it was revealed in March during the Prime Video Presents event in India, which highlighted a selection of 69 movies and shows.

The movie is produced by Baweja Studios, with Pammi Baweja, Harman Baweja, and Smitha Baliga serving as producers, while Harman Baweja, Arun Sukumar, director Tiwari, Tasneem Lokhandwala, and Akshat Ghildial are on the writing team.

The story centers on the unexpected partnership between Neha Rajvansh (Sinha), a public prosecutor, and Sarika Rawat (Jyotika), a court stenographer with a modest upbringing.

The plot synopsis reveals, “Despite their vastly different backgrounds, they come together to pursue justice and truth, even if it means challenging the powerful.”

“System offers a thrilling and intense drama that delves into ambition, justice, and morality,” stated Nikhil Madhok, Director and Head of Originals at Prime Video in India.

“With Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari leading the project and supported by Baweja Studios, System promises to keep you captivated throughout. Featuring outstanding performances from Sonakshi Sinha and Jyothika, we believe the film will deeply connect with audiences globally when it debuts on Prime Video on May 22.”

For Prime Video India, this film adds to their extensive collection of original movies, such as The Mehta Boys, Maja Ma, and Ammu. There will be no theater release for this one.

“System is an intense legal drama about two determined women from different walks of life, united by their unique views on justice,” commented Harman Baweja.

“Brought to life through the remarkable talents of Sonakshi Sinha, Jyotika, and Ashutosh Gowariker, the movie embodies our vision to present significant, cinematic narratives.”
