Brooke Shields recalled she allowed her 17-year-old daughter Grier Hammond Henchy for runway modeling after much resistance.
During an interview on Thursday’s episode of Live With Kelly and Mark, Shields revealed when her daughter Grier, who has been "doing little things here and there," first asked for her approval for modeling career.
"I fought it for so long," Shields told cohosts Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, as she recalled her reaction when daughter showed interest in modeling.
The Blue Lagoon star also noted, "it's such a different industry now than it was," adding, there was no social media when she was a model.
Speaking about the downside of working as a runway model Shields confessed, "that's brutal, and backstage is just brutal.”
"I never did runway. I don't think I would've been able to handle it,” she said.
However, the actress admitted that she was convinced that her daughter was "really passionate" about modeling, therefore she decided to allow her daughter to become a model over two conditions.
"I finally had to give in and say if you're gonna do this, A) I'm not gonna be your manager. You're going to be with an agency," Shields said.
"You are gonna have a great work ethic. It's not going to be comfortable and you're gonna listen to me. Those are my rules. And you're going to college," she advised her Gier.
