Sabrina Carpenter has opened up about her approach to romance, revealing that she's fully embracing a "fun" and "messy" love life amidst her relationship with actor Barry Keoghan.

While conversing with Cosmopolitan on Wednesday, the Tall Girl star disclosed her ongoing new romance with Barry Keoghan, she shared, “The relationships that I actually want to put my energy into have to be so interesting or invigorating because they take me away from the other things I love.”

She added, “So yeah, it’s fun and it’s messy. I think I’m still just at this place where I’m really enjoying the newness of all of it.”

Carpenter also admitted many new relationships came but she is grateful for “fate,” as she typically doesn’t “actively” look for new romance.

The Work It star looked back to her younger self, and stated, “The one thing I always thought was, ‘Why would I date this person if I didn’t see myself marrying them?’ I just wouldn’t even put energy into it.”

She continued, “But now I have a mentality that there are relationships that are meant to be in your life, even if it’s only for a couple of weeks.”

Carpenter and Keoghan first met at a Paris fashion event in 2023 and later that year in December, rumors were circulated that they were romantically involved after they were spotted having dinner together in Los Angeles.

Two months later, Carpenter and the actor were seen spending time together at W magazine’s Grammys afterparty.
