JoJo Siwa, whose real name is Joelle Joanie Siwa, was met with a major medical emergency just hours before a Mall of America performance on Friday, November 28.

A day later, the 22-year-old American singer and dancer took to TikTok to reveal that she had been rushed to the hospital in “excruciating pain” after a cyst on her ovary burst, per PEOPLE.

JoJo shared that she had been unable to breathe and was “blacking out” before being taken to the emergency room.

“So long story short, every time that I've been dancing for the last couple of days or even just walking like anything, my stomach would just really, really hurt,” she said in the clip.

However, JoJo noted that by Friday morning the pain had become “really bad,” and despite her hoping that sleep would ease it, it didn’t.

“I laid down, I closed my eyes, and I was like, 'I can't breathe,' " she recounted, adding that she got in the bathtub to see if it would “calm” her muscles.

“That set it off 100 times worse,” the Dance Moms alum continued. “I was in [the bathtub] for maybe four minutes, and all of a sudden I was like, I have to get out immediately 'cause I knew I was gonna black out and I felt like I was gonna throw up.”

JoJo recalled calling her mother, who asked whether she should call 911 and take her to the hospital.

She agreed, but when EMTs arrived, the former Disney star said “they didn't really know what was wrong,” as all her vitals appeared “normal.”

JoJo eventually made it to the hospital, where she was given pain medication and an ultrasound.

The scan revealed that one of her “ovaries had a cyst on it that burst and was bleeding” into her stomach.

“So that's what was causing the excruciating pain — anytime that the blood in your stomach moves, that's the bleeding in the stomach,” JoJo explained. “It's like brutal pain, and long story short, [it] should revolve itself. It should stop on its own.”

Despite the ordeal, she still managed to return and complete her scheduled appearance and performance at the Mall of America.

Toward the end, JoJo Siwa shared that she has a follow-up check up scheduled in one week.
