Jessie J has confirmed that ex-boyfriend Channing Tatum gave his approval for her to mention him in her new song Complicated.

The singer, who dated Tatum from 2018 to 2020, references his 2012 film Magic Mike on her latest album, Don't Tease Me With A Good Time. Jessie J told The Guardian she played the track for Tatum before its release, and he had no issues with the lyrics.

She called Tatum “such a sweet guy” and added, “We were such good friends and had such a good time together.”

The 37-year-old singer, who has a two-year-old son, Sky, with partner Chanan Safir Colman, emphasized their friendship remains strong.

Jessie J also addressed rumors about another song from the album, Threw It Away, insisting it is not a diss aimed at Tatum.

On Instagram Stories, she wrote, “I would never want his beautiful daughter to ever read any of it or be told about it thinking I said it about her Dad. Not fair.”
