Gaten Matarazzo names the cast members he’s texting all the time
The ‘Stranger Things’ star spills the beans on which castmates he stays most connected with
Gaten Matarazzo has opened up about his real-life friendship with his co-stars, beyond the famous horror fiction drama Stranger Things.
During the Los Angeles premiere of fifth and final season of the Netflix show on November 6, the 23-year-old actor revealed which of his castmates he keeps in constant contact with.
“I’m texting Finny (Finn Wolfhard) and Caleb (McLaughlin) a ton all the time,” he told People.
"They update a lot. They like a good meme and a good laugh. A good voice memo, too. Those are always... We do a number of those on a frequent basis.”
The Honor Society actor also reflected on living with his 22-year-old co-star, who stars as Mike Wheeler on Stranger Things, while filming the final season, describing it as “kind of like a college experience.”
During his chat with Jesse Tyler Ferguson on the Dinner's on Me podcast, Matarazzo dished on living with the IT star.
“It was great,” Matarazzo said. “It was kind of like a college experience,” but went on to admit that keeping their living space presented itself to be a challenge.
“I would look around like three months after we lived together and [be] like, ‘This place is disgusting. What are we doing?’” he playfully quipped.
"We kind of match each other's energy a little bit. He added that they "had been so close for so long that we didn't really hold each other to a standard," Matarazzo further explained.
“We were kind of like, ‘Ah, f--- it. Whatever, man. We'll get to it later,’” he said.
