Jennifer Meyer credits Gwyneth Paltrow for helping her navigate divorce

Tobey Maguire’s ex-wife, Jennifer Meyer, shed some light on their divorce. 

While appearing on The Inside Edit podcast, on December 1, the 48-year-old jewelry designer told host Maeve Reilly that the end of her marriage became “one of my greatest teachers.”

The former couple tied the knot back in 2007, but separated in 2016, and later finalising their divorce in 2020, sharing two children, Ruby, now 19, and Otis, 16.

She recalled those early years, she said, required a steady partnership even when emotions were raw.

“It was not easy every day, for either of us,” Meyer admitted, while praising the Spider-Man star. "But he is wonderful, and I got lucky for that.”

She credits Gwyneth Paltrow for helping shift her perspective.

During the episode, they opened up about seeing the same couples therapist, with Meyer revealing that Gwyneth Paltrow helped her realize that divorcing Maguire, 50, might ultimately be healthier for their family.

After witnessing how seamlessly Paltrow and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin continued their life as friends and co-parents following their famous “conscious uncoupling.”

Meyer praised Paltrow for helping her to see that a divorce doesn’t have to break a family apart.

The Marty Supreme actress also introduced her to psychologist Dr. Habib Sadeghi, who helped her handle her divorce.

“I now have an ex-husband who is my best friend and would do anything for me, and I would do anything for him.”
