‘Wicked: For Good’ star Cynthia Erivo recently landed in trouble after her new memoir release.

According to a report by Cosmopolitan, the actress had faced online backlash after readers got to know that she used Ariana Grande’s words without attribution.

However, the memoir titled Simply More: A Book for Anyone Who Has Been Told They’re Too Much, publisher Flatiron Books, finally took the matter in their hand and even made a public statement.

The publisher claimed that the Ariana’s name was skipped in the introductory chapter by accident.

For those unversed, the passage in the memoir, which was in question for its resemblance to Don’t Look Up actress interview, read, “I’ve been a specimen in a petri dish since I was a teenager. I’ve heard it all, every version of what’s wrong with me. And when I fix it, then it’s wrong for different reasons. Maybe you’ve felt the same?"

On the other hand, Ariana’s words in the interview, “I've been a specimen in a petri dish really since I was 16 or 17, so I have heard it all. I've heard every version of it, of what’s wrong with me, and then you fix it, and then it’s wrong for different reasons."

Meanwhile, the publisher gave assurance that the rectified editions would be printed from now on.
