Leonardo DiCaprio, who was named the 2025 TIME Entertainer of the Year, recently revealed simple philosophy for managing private life in the limelight.

After receiving the honour on December 8, the Shutter Island star talked about balancing his personal life with his busy career.

“It’s been a balance I’ve been managing my whole adult life and still, I’m not an expert,” he told the magazine.

Leo pointed out that his “simple philosophy” is “to get out there and do something when you have something to say, or you have something to show for it”.

“Otherwise, just disappear as much as you possibly can,” explained the 51-year-old.

Elsewhere in the interview, the Oscar winner weighed in on the role of artificial intelligence in Hollywood.

“It could be an enhancement tool for a young movie-maker to do something we’ve never seen before,” said Leo.

One Battle After Another actor believed that anything “that is going to be authentically thought of as art has to come from the human being”.

Before concluding, Leo also shared his experience working with the late Diane Keaton in the movie, Marvin’s Room.

“She had the most incredible laugh,” he remembered.

The Revenant actor opened up that Diane’s laugh “would echo through the entire set, and she made you feel like the funniest person in the world”.

“I’ll never forget it. I kind of lived to make her laugh every day on set, because it was so infectious. She was incredible,” added Leo.
