Susan Boyle shares her response to Timothée Chalamet’s ‘incredibly touching’ praise
Timothée Chalamet recently applauded Susan Boyle as one of the “great Britons” around and she has now responded to the actor’s high praise.
The Scottish singer, who gained unprecedented fame after appearing on Britain’s Got Talent, said that she felt “very flattered” by Chalamet’s kind words.
“Those early days were quite something, and to know that moment meant something to you all these years on truly humbles me,” she responded.
Boyle’s statement comes a few days after the 29-year-old actor listed her as one of the Brits who “would be worthy” of receiving merchandise from his upcoming release, Marty Supreme.
“She dreamt bigger than all of us,” the American-French actor told BBC, referencing Boyle’s famous performance of I Dreamed a Dream from Les Misérables on the British reality series.
“I remember that like it was yesterday. That was like the advent of YouTube, you know,” he added, with the news outlet noting that Chalamet “was 13 when Boyle shot to fame after stunning viewers and judges with her audition for ‘Britain’s Got Talent’, which quickly went viral.”
While Boyle sent her best wishes to the young superstar, saying, “I wish you every success as you continue to dream your own dream. Thank you for your kindness and for remembering that moment so fondly. With love, Susan.”
Other British personalities named by Timothée Chalamet also included David and Victoria Beckham, Lewis Hamilton, and the underground London rapper Fakemink.
His new film, Marty Supreme, will be released into cinemas on December 25.
