Yungblud is leading the fan campaign to have the Birmingham Airport renamed after one of the city’s most famous names, Ozzy Osbourne.

“Absolutely, it's got to be done,” the English rockstar said in a recent interview with Kerrang! Radio. “Why not? Man, I think he’s the best thing that’s ever happened to Birmingham.”

Notably, the singer-songwriter had performed for the late music legend’s benefit concert with his former group Black Sabbath, Back to the Beginning.

While Ozzy had made a cameo in the music video for Yungblud’s track The Funeral, released in 2022.

The Zombie performer also hailed Peaky Blinders as one of Birmingham’s most valuable assets while saying, “What better place than to fly to from São Paulo or Argentina or Australia or Japan to go and see Birmingham, because Black Sabbath and ‘Peaky Blinders’ made Birmingham internationally famous.”

Birmingham Airport’s name change campaign was initially introduced on Change.org, where it has “gathered more than 76,000 signatures,” per Miami Herald.

While the airport officials “have ruled out a full name change,” a confirmation was provided about securing permission “from Osbourne’s estate to create terminal artwork honoring Ozzy and other local legends, set to be unveiled next spring.”

Ozzy Osbourne passed away from a cardiac arrest on July 22, 2025.
