The shocking reason behind Nick Reiner's 'plea of insanity' decision in the murder case of his parents, Rob Reiner and Michele Reiner, has been revealed.

For the unversed, the 32-year-old murder suspect during his December 17 court appearance waived his right to enter a plea.

Now, according to Radar Online, he could try for an insanity approach.

A famed lawyer Tony Buzbee, in this regard, shared his two cents Nick's attorney "knows what he’s doing".

However, other prominent attorneys cautioned against the insanity defense as a former federal prosecutor Neama Rahmani said, "The defense may have an uphill battle trying to prove their case when all signs point to premeditated murder by the son of Rob and Michele."

Rahmani went on to say, "Insanity requires a psychosis, schizophrenia, or something similar, such that Nick doesn't even know he's killing his parents.

"He thinks, for example, they are aliens, demons, or that God is commanding him to do something, he said.

"If you’re capable enough to have an argument with your parents at a Christmas party, you are not insane."

For the unversed, Nick faces murder charges of Rob Reiner and Michele Reiner, who were found fatally stabbed in their home in Los Angeles.
