Jamie Campbell Bower surprises ‘Stranger Things’ fans with unexpected Broadway debut
Jamie Campbell Bower appears in Broadway’s ‘Stranger Things: The First Shadow’
Jamie Campbell Bower made his Broadway debut on December 19, appearing in the Stranger Things stage adaptation, titled The First Shadow.
The English actor who plays the antagonist Henry Creel/Vecna in the Netflix series, surprised theatregoers on Friday when he reprised his role onstage, replacing actor Louis McCartney for a one-off instance.
According to Deadline, Bower appeared in the final moment of the play, one which “connects the live show directly to the flagship Netflix series,” and depicts a scene from the show’s fourth season when Henry meets Eleven in the Hawkins Lab’s Rainbow Room.
“That is the only scene in the stage play that comes directly from the series, as most of the show seeks to fill in some of the gaps about Henry’s backstory after he moves to Hawkins in 1959,” it was added.
Jamie Campbell Bower has starred on the sci-fi drama since 2022, when its fourth season had dropped on Netflix.
He will appear as Henry Creel and his monstrous form, Vecna, in the final episodes of Stranger Things set to premiere on December 25.
