Pierce Brosnan is speaking out about the future of cinema as concerns grow over Netflix’s proposed takeover of Warner Bros. Discovery.

In a new interview with The Times U.K., the former James Bond star called the merger ‘unsettling.’

“To have one dominant force that colors what we see, how we see it and where we see it is a change that doesn’t feel culturally right,” Brosnan said.

The actor, who currently stars in Netflix’s The Thursday Murder Club, admitted the streamer has provided steady work but stressed that the broader impact worries him.

“I love cinema,” he added, noting that theaters have steadily disappeared in both California and London. “You have to be diligent and ask yourself: How do you now traverse these waters without getting mangled and embittered by it?”

Netflix announced on December 5 that it plans to acquire Warner Bros. Discovery and its streaming assets in a deal valued at $82.7 billion, according to reports.

A rival bid from Paramount Skydance soon followed, but WBD has urged shareholders to back Netflix’s offer.
