Taylor Swift reportedly played a substantial role in influencing Travis Kelce's decision to postpone his retirement plans for the current year.

However, earlier this month it was revealed that Swift’s boyfriend decided to play for one more year.

Now, as per reports published on Marca, it was none other than the Fate of Ophelia songstress who had a big influence on this decision.

According to a Page Six’s source, the NFL star and the multi-award-winning singer "definitely discussed" his possible retirement "as a couple."

Moreover, it was revealed that she played a key role in her boyfriend’s decision not to leave the Kansas City Chiefs or the sport.

"She didn't want Travis to retire," the source said, adding, "She wanted him to go out on a high note."

Eventually, Travis Kelce decided to follow Taylor Swift’s advice and complete his contract with the team.

However, his current contract is set to expire soon at the end of the season, so he might be considering retirement as a next step.

For the unversed, the couple, who began dating in 2023, got engaged in August 2025.
