Michael Bolton’s daughters have shared an encouraging update on the singer’s health as he continues his fight against glioblastoma, a rare and aggressive form of brain cancer.

Previously, the 72-year-old, two time Grammy winner revealed that he was diagnosed in December 2023 after emergency surgery, during which doctors successfully removed his brain tumor.

He later underwent a second brain surgery in January 2024 due to an infection and completed radiation and chemotherapy treatment in October.

As per Fox News report, Bolton now receives MRI scans every two months, as glioblastoma carries a high risk of recurrence rate.

In an interview with AARP, the singer’s daughters, Isa, Holly and Taryn, who have become his primary caregivers, offered reassurance about his condition.

Isa said, “We’re proud and happy to update anyone who has been interested in following [our Dad’s] journey that he is in very good spirits and very good health."

She added, “He has a lot of challenges, and we do have great days and some tough days, but in general, he’s very strong. His mobility and cognition have been terrific. So, we’re in a really good place right now.”

The All for Love crooner resonated that optimism in an email to AARP, sharing that he was “feeling deeply grateful” and cherishing time with his family.

“This past year has tested me in ways I never imagined but it’s also made me more aware of the moments that fill life with meaning,” he said citing simple joys like family meals and time with his grandchildren.

The Go the Distance hitmaker shares his three daughters with ex-wife Maureen McGuire and is a grandfather of six.

His daughters have divided caregiving responsibilities with Taryn and her children living full time at his Connecticut home, Isa visiting several days a week and Holly traveling monthly from California to help.

The Missing You Now singer described his daughters’ support as invaluable. “My daughters have been constant in a way that grounds me,” he said. “They remind me of who I am and what’s worth fighting for.”

Isa also acknowledged challenges, including a temporary personality change after surgery. “We became a very small island,” she said, noting how the family protected his privacy. While the adjustment was difficult, she said Bolton eventually returned to his familiar self.

Moreover, Michael Bolton also expressed gratitude to fans for their support. “Thank you, from the bottom of my heart,” he said, adding, “It reminds me that we’re all connected and none of us walk through life’s challenges alone.”
