Bunnie Xo claims facelift feels 'choking' during recovery journey

Bunnie Xo's candid insights regarding cosmetic surgery continue to emerge.

The 46-year-old host of Dumb Blonde and wife of country music artist Jelly Roll underwent a facelift recently. 

In a post-surgery update on Instagram, she mentioned feeling tightness so severe it resembled "being choked from ear to ear." Other symptoms include feeling breathless easily and being confined to a recliner.

"People insist day 7 is the peak, but as it approaches, you're left doubtful," she expressed in her March 23 update. "I acknowledge choosing this route, yet wow," she commented further.

Announcing her cosmetic journey, Bunnie Xo (whose real name is Alisa DeFord) shared her plans during the March 13 episode of her podcast. 

“Send me lots of positive vibes,” she urged, admitting, “I’m going to appear quite differently, heavily bruised. It’s going to be unusual, so don't worry.”

Later on, she offered her online followers a firsthand look at her new appearance. A March 16 Instagram post showed her face swollen and wrapped with bandages securing surgical drains.

On her fifth day of recovery, the Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic author offered a clearer view of her healing face—bruised but stitch-free. 

"New face, who’s this? (And how charming is my husband’s country slang?)" she quipped, referring to a message from Jelly Roll saying: "Sweetheart, you’re healing like a champ — wow, you look amazing."

An advocate for self-appreciation, Bunnie Xo has envisioned a facelift for a considerable time. "Indeed, I admire natural beauty," she remarked on a January segment of Dumb Blonde. "I've spoken out against plastic surgeries I regret. A facelift, however, is not in that list. Those who've listened to past podcasts can attest that for the last three years, I've planned on getting a facelift at 46."

Bunnie Xo has openly discussed her reasons for the procedure. "To all curious about why I opted for a facelift, eliminating old filler played a significant role," she disclosed on Instagram on March 18. 

"I quit facial fillers over three years ago (though I did have some in my lips), had it dissolved multiple times in my cheeks, yet traces lingered."

As reported by E! News, Bunnie Xo has also had breast implant removal, a nose job, and experienced a fat transfer operation to shift fat from her lower back and stomach to her upper buttocks (she described this as the "most regrettable" decision).
