Billie Eilish has once again voiced her profound admiration for Lebanese superstar Nancy Ajram, highlighting a long-standing appreciation for Middle Eastern music.
In a recent interview with E! News, the 24-year-old American singer-songwriter elaborated on how Arabic melodies have served as a significant source of inspiration throughout her life.
"I have always been really inspired by Arabic singers," Eilish shared, adding that her interest in the genre is a passion she shares with her father.
"I freaking love Nancy Ajram. She’s one of my favourite singers," she enthusiastically noted.
This public endorsement did not go unnoticed by Ajram, who is widely celebrated as the "Queen of Arab Pop."
Responding to the praise on her X handle, the Lebanese icon expressed mutual respect for Eilish's artistry.
"Her talent and authenticity inspire so many around the world, including me," Ajram wrote, accompanied by several red heart emojis.
This interaction marks a significant cross-cultural moment between two of the music industry's most influential women, bridging the gap between Western pop and Middle Eastern contemporary music.
This is not the first instance where Eilish has championed Ajram’s work. As early as 2020, during an episode of her "Me & Dad" radio programme, she introduced her listeners to Ajram’s discography, specifically praising the emotive track "Inta Eyh."
Eilish described the music as "very special" to her, showcasing a consistent interest that predates her recent global tour success.
With both artists currently at the peak of their careers, fans have begun to speculate whether a future collaboration might be on the horizon for these two global powerhouses.
